Static Guard
(Reports to: Supervisor & Operations Manager)


They should ensure a high-quality output of work and ensure that processes are followed and instructions from the Supervisor are followed. It is essential that Guards ensure compliance to industry standards, company policies and procedures for their shift.  All documentation and records are to be completed correctly.

Applicants should: 

  • hold a current SIA Licence

  • Fully proven work history

  • understand the basics of (or know where to access) standards, policies and procedures

  • understand escalation procedures and departmental functions around the business

  • follow direction from their Supervisor or Line Manager

  • provide reports as required

  • Gatehouse duties checking in and out visits and vehicles, walking around checking site perimeter

  • General Security Duty

 General Tasks 

  • Liaise with the Police, Fire Service and other agencies in an emergency and on all issues affecting security, surrounding customer premises (or escalate via a Supervisor or the Control Room team)
  • Assist controllers during incidents by advising the controller of appropriate action to be taken and supporting colleagues where necessary
  • Complete daily tasks – duty sheet, incident reports, conduct handovers and communications and all required paperwork to a high standard

CCTV Controllers

Cougar Monitoring are currently recruiting for CCTV Controllers at our state of the art facility in Cradley Heath. With a strong focus on customer service, successful applicants will be required to work methodically under pressure. Working a shift pattern of predominantly nights, with some days and weekends, Controllers will be required to work 12 hour shifts with a one-hour lunch break, within a busy and professional security environment. 38 - 42 hours per week on average (overtime available), starting salary £17,500, rising to £18,000 following a successful probationary period.
SIA Licence and experience preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Duties include:

  •           CCTV, Intruder & Fire Alarm Monitoring

  •           Communicating effectively with staff, customers and emergency services

  •            Completing detailed reports (computer based)

The successful candidate will have the following attributes:

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to work to deadlines and prioritise

  • Good computer skills

The successful applicant will be subject to security screening to BS7858 and therefore should have a full five-year history, (can include unemployment and training periods).
