Cougar Monitoring To Unveil Important New Services At Open DayCougar Monitoring To Unveil Important New Services At Open DayCougar Monitoring will unveil several important new services including a unique and highly sophisticated new biometric vehicle tracking system at an open day at its operations centre in Cradley Heath, West Midlands on 28 April 2010. In addition to the vehicle tracking system Cougar will be demonstrating a new range of detection equipment which, when interfaced with a remote monitored CCTV system, will provide not only enhanced detection capabilities, but importantly reduce false alarms and activations. Cougar will also be demonstrating systems designed specifically to tackle the increasing occurrence and cost of crime relating to voided properties. “With the onset of the recession, more and more commercial and industrial premises are becoming vacant and need to be protected from crime as this type of premises is increasingly being targeted, especially for the copper and other semi precious metals they often contain”, says Martin Dews, Cougar’s Business Development Officer. Dews expects increased demand, especially from the insurance industry, for Cougar’s key holding and emergency response service, which will be being demonstrated. “Insurers are concerned when commercial organisations nominate members of their own staff to act as key holders who then have to respond to alarm activations, putting them in potentially dangerous situations where they could find themselves under attack from criminals,” says Dews. “This is where Cougar can provide a key holding and emergency response service, using professionally trained response teams to deal with these situations. The insurers are happy because there is no chance of a private personal injury claim, and the employer is safe in the knowledge that his or her staff do not have disturbed leisure time, and can arrive the next day ready to concentrate on their jobs.” Guests will include risk assessors from the insurance industry, as well as N.S.I. approved installation companies, Police Architect Liaison Officers, and representatives from local authorities and businesses. There will also be some key manufacturers on hand to demonstrate new and innovative products, designed to prevent and aid the detection of crime. “As well as seeing our facilities, which include a state-of-the art monitoring station, attendees will learn about our exciting expansion plans and the new cutting edge technologies which are changing the face of the security industry,” says Dews. “The purpose of the open day will be first and foremost to promote Cougar Monitoring,” says Dews, “but it is also designed to demonstrate our willingness to work with, and network with, both local and national security influencers and organisations, ensuring that we are providing the best security solution in an ever changing industry. New and better technology is constantly being developed to swiftly and efficiently combat and detect criminal activity. It is important to work with not only customers but also manufacturers to ensure the best security solution, rapidly, and at the best value.” Established in 1996 by two senior ex-police officers, Cougar Monitoring, based in Cradley Heath, West Midlands, has grown into a premier supplier of security solutions with over 8,000 customers in the UK. It provides a "one stop shop" for security and in addition to manned guarding provides state-of-the-art monitored CCTV equipment, key holding, emergency response, and mobile patrols.
